Advanced Health & Safety — Custom App Development (2026-02-26)
Overview
Mark has built a near-complete custom application for Advanced Health & Safety (AHS) that replaces their existing toolset — primarily MarketSharp — with a fully integrated, AI-assisted workflow. The app was discussed in the [1] as a flagship example of a new product strategy: building bespoke CRM/operations apps for clients at a fraction of the cost of tools like HubSpot or Salesforce.
Sebastian is scheduled to test the app in early March.
App Workflow
The application covers the full job lifecycle from lead intake to scheduling:
-
PWA (Estimator — Mobile): An estimator in the field opens a progressive web app on their phone. They answer structured questions about the job site — dimensions, building type, access constraints, etc. — and submit.
-
Desktop App (AI Estimate): The submission flows into a desktop application where an algorithm generates a cost estimate based on the field inputs. The office manager reviews the AI-generated estimate and adjusts line items as needed (more of this, less of that).
-
Proposal (DocuSign): Once the estimate is finalized, the app generates a proposal and sends it to the client for e-signature via DocuSign.
-
Job & Calendar: Upon signing, the proposal converts to a job that appears on a shared calendar. The team can see all active jobs at a glance.
-
Asset Management: The system enforces resource constraints — e.g., if the company has two trucks, it prevents scheduling three simultaneous jobs.
Strategic Context
This app is the first concrete instance of a broader [2] Mark is developing. The core value proposition:
- Many clients pay $2,500–$3,000/month for HubSpot or Salesforce but use only a fraction of the features.
- A purpose-built replacement can be offered for ~$500/month, with two months of the client's current software cost covering the build.
- AHS is the pilot; once validated, similar apps could be sold to comparable businesses in the same vertical.
"I think what we'll do with it is we'll see about going out to other companies and similar businesses and trying to sell it to them, too. We just want to get it working in one place first." — Mark Hope
