Ben Account Management Transition
Overview
As part of a broader team restructuring effort, Ben is being transitioned into an account management role, with [1] serving as his first account. The approach is a gradual shadowing model — Ben will observe and participate in tasks while Mark and Melissa remain actively involved in client-facing meetings for the near term.
Transition Approach
- Shadowing first: Ben will join Citrus America calls and take on associated tasks, but will not lead meetings initially
- Primary contacts unchanged: Miriam and Brian will continue to reach out directly to Melissa/Mark for ad hoc questions and escalations
- Meeting cadence: Citrus America meets infrequently (approximately once per larger cycle), making it a low-risk account for Ben to observe without overexposure early on
- Task ownership: Ben is expected to handle work items and keep deliverables moving as he ramps up
Context
Ben had previously been focused primarily on landing page work and had limited client-facing interaction. The transition to account management is intended to keep him engaged and productive, with the longer-term goal of converting project clients (e.g., Avant Gardening) into retained relationships.
Ben was receptive to the change. He is aware the team is reorganizing but was not given specific details about the reasons behind the shuffle.
