Bookly Feasibility Assessment — 2025-11-03
Overview
During the [1], the team flagged a feasibility concern with the LaMarie mobile booking flow: the aesthetics in Michał's design may not be achievable within the constraints of the Bookly plugin. This article captures the assessment outcome and the path forward.
Background
Michał designed a mobile booking flow for [2] that was described as "nice, clean, and simplified." The design was created based on the intended user experience without full knowledge of what the Bookly plugin could support. When implementation began, it became apparent that Bookly's customization options may not accommodate the design's visual style.
The Bookly plugin was originally proposed by Lisa as the booking solution, but it has not performed as smoothly as anticipated.
Assessment Outcome
- The design aesthetics as specified by Michał are potentially infeasible within Bookly's available customization options.
- The issue is a technical limitation of the plugin, not a design error — the design itself is sound.
- A redesign is not planned. The implementation team will work within Bookly's constraints to match the design as closely as possible.
Path Forward
- Eshock and Chris will assess what visual adjustments are possible within the Bookly plugin format.
- The goal is to match Michał's design as closely as the plugin allows, using LaMarie's brand colors and available styling options.
- Michał does not need to produce revised designs at this stage. The team will reach out if design input is needed.
- Melissa will follow up once the implementation team has determined what can and cannot be achieved.
Key Decision
Implementation proceeds using available Bookly plugin customizations. No redesign will be commissioned unless the implementation team determines that design-level changes are the only path to an acceptable outcome.
