State Pages CallRail Strategy — BluepointATM
Overview
BluePoint ATM is building geo-targeted state landing pages to create a local presence in key markets. Each page uses a dedicated CallRail tracking number with a local area code, giving prospects the impression of a local provider while allowing BluePoint to measure inbound call performance by state. This article documents the number assignment approach, page structure decisions, and the rationale for how phone numbers are displayed across the site.
State Page Rollout
Ten state pages are in active development as of January 2026, using the Colorado page as the design and content template.
First 10 states:
- Colorado (template; CallRail number already created)
- Virginia (CallRail number already created)
- California
- Florida
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Illinois
- Michigan
- New Jersey
- Washington
Eight additional CallRail numbers need to be provisioned for the states beyond Colorado and Virginia. Assigned to: Melissa Cusumano.
Phone Number Display Strategy
State Pages
- Hero image: The local CallRail number (state area code) is displayed prominently in the top hero section. This is the primary call-to-action for visitors arriving on a state page.
- Footer: The generic 800 number appears in the footer only. This avoids confusion between the localized number and the national number — visitors who scroll to the bottom still have a contact option, but the local number remains the dominant signal.
Main Website (Non-State Pages)
- A "pool" phone number bar exists on the homepage, rotating through several tracking numbers. The decision was made to replicate this bar as a template container across all interior pages (industry pages, solution pages, etc.) to increase phone number visibility site-wide.
- The bar can display generic copy by default, with the option to customize the headline per page (e.g., "Hospitality Solutions") without requiring individual page edits — the container is built as a shared template.
- The 800 number is not recommended for the top navigation on the main site, as it would conflict with the state-specific numbers on state pages.
Rationale
"I think since we want to focus so heavily on the state pages, them being so targeted, I don't think [putting the phone number in the header] is the way to go. I think we do put just one 800 number in the footer, and I don't think there's any harm in also on the state pages having that 800 number still in the footer… versus the more customized number in the top hero image." — Karly Oykhman
The local area code number in the hero creates a perception of local presence and is the primary CallRail attribution mechanism for state-level lead tracking.
Implementation Notes
- State pages are built from the Colorado template; the developer has assets for the first 10 pages.
- State seal graphics were updated to grayscale per BluePoint's preference.
- The phone number bar on interior pages should be implemented as a reusable Elementor/page-builder container so copy and image can be updated globally or overridden per page.
- CallRail numbers for the 8 remaining states (CA, FL, NY, PA, IL, MI, NJ, WA) must be created before those pages go live.
