BluepointATM Prospect Calculators
Overview
Four interactive JavaScript calculators are in development for [1] to educate prospects on cash management costs and reverse ATM ROI. The core strategy is to surface a prospect's hidden costs first, then guide them toward BluePoint's solution as the logical next step — turning a self-service tool into a discovery call driver.
The calculators are custom-built (no third-party subscription required) and can be embedded on the website, hosted on a standalone page, or shared as direct links. Once finalized, they will be handed off to designers to match BluePoint's brand.
"The idea here is you're saying it costs you twenty-nine thousand dollars a year just to manage cash. And they go, oh wow, I didn't know that. And you say, so here's your solution." — Mark Hope
The Four Calculators
1. Cash Cost Calculator
Purpose: Reveal the true annual cost of cash management to prospects who may not have quantified it.
- User selects business type (e.g., small business, convenience store)
- Inputs monthly amounts for each cash-related expense category
- Outputs total monthly and annual cash operating costs (example: ~$2,400/mo → ~$29k/yr)
- Optional fields for insurance and other ancillary costs
- CTA at bottom: Prompt to contact BluePoint to eliminate these costs via a reverse ATM
2. Traffic & Revenue Impact Calculator
Purpose: Quantify the revenue lift a business can expect from adding an ATM.
- Inputs: foot traffic volume, estimated ATM usage rate
- Outputs: projected incremental revenue from ATM-driven spending
- Particularly relevant for venues and retail locations
3. ATM Placement ROI Calculator
Purpose: Project profitability and break-even timeline for placing a traditional ATM.
- Inputs: business type, foot traffic, ATM usage rate, average transactions/day, surcharge rate, interchange rate
- Outputs: monthly surcharge revenue, interchange revenue, total revenue, one-time setup cost, monthly net profit
- Includes a break-even chart (red = cost curve, green = profit curve) showing payback period visually
- Example output: ~$3,000/mo net profit with break-even in month 2
Wade Zirkle noted this calculator is most valuable for reverse ATMs, where prospect education is still needed, versus traditional ATMs where the market is mature.
4. Cash Management Savings Calculator
Purpose: Show the savings a business achieves by switching to a reverse ATM.
- Mirrors the Cash Cost Calculator but frames output as recoverable savings
- Reinforces the ROI case for reverse ATM adoption
Technical Approach
- Built as a JavaScript app (currently running on localhost; to be deployed to a server)
- All input fields are adjustable — default values are research-backed but prospects can override them
- Each calculator can be:
- Embedded individually on relevant website pages
- Hosted together on a single "Tools" or "Resources" page
- Shared as a standalone link (e.g., for sales outreach)
- Password protection / form gate to be added before sharing externally, preventing competitor access
Status
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Calculator designs | Complete |
| Calculator logic | In progress (all four) |
| Server deployment | Pending (Mark Hope, EOW) |
| Password/form gate | Pending (Mark Hope) |
| BluePoint review | Awaiting deployment |
| Brand design pass | Queued after content approval |
Strategic Notes
- Sequencing matters: The Cash Cost Calculator is the entry point — it creates the problem awareness that makes the other three calculators (and BluePoint's pitch) land harder.
- Expandable: Additional calculators can be added at any time. BluePoint can suggest new use cases and provide rough number guidance.
- Security concern: BluePoint explicitly requested access controls before any external sharing to prevent competitors from reverse-engineering their pricing assumptions.
- Prospect education gap: Reverse ATMs are still a new category. These tools serve a market-education function that traditional ATM sales never needed.
