Agility Recovery SOAR Facilitator Guide — Design Notes

Design and implementation notes for the SOAR course Facilitator Guide (FG), capturing key decisions made during the 2026-02-13 review session with Gus Donelson (Agility Recovery) and Isalia Ramirez (Asymmetric).

Overview

The SOAR course Facilitator Guide is being finalized alongside the Participant Guide. This document records the structural and content decisions made during the February 13 review, which Isalia will implement before sending the updated guides to Gus for approval. Once the guides are in review, work shifts to the Storyline co-pilot project.

Key Design Decisions

1. Facilitator Prompts — Scope

Isalia added facilitator prompts throughout the entire FG (not only in the sections Gus had explicitly flagged). Gus confirmed this was the correct interpretation — he had stopped annotating individual spots once he assumed the pattern was understood.

Decision: Facilitator prompts appear at all relevant points across the FG, not selectively.

2. Sales Playbook Integration — Reference, Don't Duplicate

The SharePoint Sales Playbooks are a parallel job-aid system being built out by Gus. The FG should train learners to use the playbooks as on-the-job references, not reproduce their content.

Decision: Add facilitator notes at relevant lesson points that direct learners to the corresponding Sales Playbook section. Examples of playbook-to-lesson mappings:

Lesson Topic Corresponding Playbook
Verticals Verticals playbook
Value Proposition Value Prop / Elevator Speech playbook
Discovery Discovery Questions playbook

Rationale: The goal is habit formation — learners should know where to go in SharePoint when they need a job aid, rather than relying on the participant guide or e-learning after training ends.

"I just want to reference it so they start getting comfortable knowing, hey, what am I doing? I can go to this playbook and it's going to take me through all of the pieces." — Gus Donelson

Note: Not all playbooks are complete yet; Gus is still building them out. Reference only what exists.

3. ROI Calculator — Add Live Demo Prompt

The ROI Calculator is referenced in the course content but no facilitator action was explicitly scripted around it.

Decision: Add a facilitator prompt at the point where the ROI Calculator is introduced, directing the facilitator to run a live demo of the tool.

Rationale: Without an explicit prompt, the demo is likely to be skipped. The prompt serves as a reliable trigger for Gus during facilitation.

4. Objection Handling Activity — Sequencing Caveat

An objection handling activity appears in the FG before the formal objection handling module is taught (the module is part of the Agility Way section, which comes later in the course sequence).

Decision: Do not reorder the activity. Instead, add a facilitator note acknowledging the sequencing and framing the activity appropriately.

Suggested framing for the facilitator note:

We haven't covered our formal objection handling process yet — that's coming in an upcoming module. For this activity, use your own instincts to overcome the objection. We'll give you a structured process shortly.

5. New Product — Incident Response Jumpstart Retainer (IR JSR)

A new product launched in partnership with Arctic Wolf was released the day before this meeting (2026-02-12). It needs to be introduced in the FG even though it will not have dedicated e-learning content within the SOAR course itself.

Product details:
- Full name: Incident Response Jumpstart Retainer (IR JSR)
- Partner: Arctic Wolf
- Training location: Arctic Wolf's own LMS (not Agility's)
- Assessment: An Arctic Wolf assessment will be assigned within Agility's LMS
- Course treatment: Standalone training handled separately; SOAR FG introduces the product and directs learners to Arctic Wolf's platform

Decision: Add a facilitator note in the FG introducing the IR JSR, naming the Arctic Wolf partnership, and clarifying that product training occurs on Arctic Wolf's LMS with an assessment assigned back in Agility's LMS.

6. Product Catalog — Do Not Use 2024 Version

A 2024 product catalog exists but is outdated. A 2026 version is in production with the graphic designer and expected within a few weeks of the meeting date.

Decision: Do not reference or include the 2024 catalog in the FG or any course materials.

What the 2026 catalog will include:
- Comparison chart across tiers: Essentials, Standard, Enhanced
- Internal technical specs (breaker/plugin/power details)
- Both an internal version (with specs) and an external version (for prospects)

The 2026 catalog is intended to become a key training artifact for product modules. It will be incorporated once available.
