Quarra Salesforce Sandbox Strategy
Decision
Quarra's Salesforce subscription includes a partial data sandbox, which is sufficient for development and testing needs. A full data sandbox is not required and should not be purchased.
Context
Quarra's Salesforce account rep (Abby) attempted to sell a full data sandbox, including a follow-up email referencing an "incomplete purchase" in the web store. The team recognized this as a sales upsell tactic. Lincoln confirmed directly with the rep that Quarra's needs are met by the existing subscription.
"We just need a partial one, which already is included in your guys' subscription." — Karly Oykhman
Rationale
- The partial sandbox covers all current development and testing use cases.
- A full data sandbox carries additional cost with no corresponding benefit for Quarra's workload.
- Salesforce reps may continue to surface this upsell; the standing position is to decline.
Guidance
If the Salesforce account rep raises the full sandbox again — including via DocuSign or web store prompts — ignore or decline. No purchase is needed. Lincoln is aware and aligned.
