The Metadata Gap
Despite the ranking performance above, no SEO metadata has been applied to the site:
- Pages (15 total): No meta titles, no meta descriptions, no target keywords
- Products: No title tags, no meta descriptions
- Categories: No descriptions
This was identified as a missed deliverable from the original site build — the work was apparently never assigned a ClickUp task, and no team member completed it. The gap was surfaced by Kim, a technical contractor now managing the account while the primary contact (Katie) is on maternity leave.
Remediation plan: Mark will use an API script to generate meta titles and descriptions based on existing page content for all pages and products, then request re-indexing via Google Search Console. See [3].
Interpretation
The site's current rankings are driven entirely by on-page content quality and domain signals — not by any deliberate metadata optimization. This means:
- The floor is already solid. 24 keywords in the top 10 without metadata is a strong baseline for a small med spa.
- Upside exists. Properly implemented metadata should improve click-through rates and may lift rankings further.
- Content is the next lever. Once metadata is in place, the primary growth path is targeted content creation.
