PaperTube SEO & AIO Content Opportunity

Overview

During the February 2026 strategy call, Parag raised SEO and AI-optimized content (AIO) as a priority initiative for the year. The conversation surfaced a concrete project scope: improving PaperTube's organic search rankings while simultaneously ensuring the brand appears in AI-generated answers from platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot. This is scoped as a future engagement, pending progress on the active LinkedIn and email campaigns.

The Opportunity

Parag's framing: "How do we start getting better at SEO? Is there something that needs to be done for AI and Gemini and ChatGPT — so that we're still relevant there?"

PaperTube currently lacks optimized blog content and has not addressed the technical SEO fundamentals (alt text, meta descriptions, indexed pages) that underpin both traditional search rankings and AI citation eligibility. The opportunity has two reinforcing legs:

  1. Organic search rankings — rank for high-intent keywords relevant to premium packaging buyers
  2. AI citations (AIO) — appear as a cited source when buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot questions about packaging solutions

Proposed Strategy

1. Question-Answer Blog Content

The primary content format for capturing both FAQ rankings and AI citations is question-answer style blog posts. AI models preferentially cite content that directly answers specific questions.

Evidence from Asymmetric's existing clients: One comparable client gained 5+ additional AI citations on Google in a single month using this approach, with concurrent increases in organic traffic and organic keyword rankings.

2. AI Content Optimization Workflow

Asymmetric uses a structured workflow to ensure blog content outperforms existing rankings:

  1. Identify target keyword
  2. Run keyword through an AI content analysis tool to benchmark top-ranking content
  3. Write or rewrite content to exceed the benchmark quality score
  4. Publish and monitor ranking trajectory (typically 1+ month to see movement)

Higher organic traffic signals quality to AI platforms, creating a compounding effect: better rankings → more traffic → stronger AI citation eligibility.

3. Technical SEO Foundations

Before or alongside content production, a technical SEO audit should address:

Element Action
Image alt text Add descriptive, keyword-relevant alt text to all images
Meta descriptions Write unique meta descriptions for every page
Keyword-rich URLs Ensure page URLs contain the target keyword for that page
Page-level keyword assignment Each page should have one designated primary keyword
Google Search Console indexing Push updates after any page change to avoid months-long indexing delays

Without pushing changes to Google Search Console, updates to existing pages can take months to be recognized in search rankings — even if the content itself is improved.

Sequencing & Dependencies

This project is explicitly scoped as future work, to be initiated after the current LinkedIn pilot and email campaign are launched and generating data. Parag's intent is to validate the paid/outbound strategy first, then layer in organic as a complementary channel.

Suggested trigger for scoping: Once the LinkedIn pilot has run for 2+ months and initial email campaign performance is established.

Primary Asymmetric contact for this work: Mark Hope (technical SEO, keyword research, Google Search Console setup)
