Didion Product Page — Korn Masa & Arepa
Specifications and approved copy/design direction for the new Korn Masa and Arepa Flour product page on the Didion website, established during the [1] PLMA trade show prep call.
Overview
The product page is being built by Eshock as a new page (duplicated from an existing product page template). Key decisions were made around the hero image treatment, copy refinements, and visual hierarchy. Most updates are minor and can be adjusted further once the page is live in the build.
Hero Image
- Rotating image carousel: Eshock has the assets needed to build a rotating hero featuring both corn masa and arepa visuals.
- Drop shadow on white font: Because the background image is responsive and will shift, white overlay text needs a drop shadow added for legibility across all viewport sizes. Other colors (black, yellow) were considered and rejected as likely to get lost against the imagery.
Copy Edits
| Location | Original | Updated | Rationale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Applications list | "nachos" | "chips" | Broader appeal; chips is more generic than nachos |
| Applications line | Full "Applications: …" line | Remove entirely | Visuals on the page already convey application context; redundant |
| Color/variety list | "comes in yellow, white, blue" | "yellow, white, blue" | Remove "comes in" — reads more cleanly as a simple attribute list |
Diana's rationale on "chips" vs. "nachos": "Chips are more generic than nachos… tortillas, arepa, chips, and more is better."
Navigation & Footer
Once built, the page will inherit the standard Didion site navigation and footer. The full-bleed design shown in Figma will not carry over to the live build — this is expected and acceptable.
