Service Pages: LED Headlights & Marine Audio

Updates and decisions from the Jan 15 2026 review of Flynn Audio's new service pages. See also: ^[1] and the broader ^[2] pattern.

CTA Change: "Book a Service" → "Shop"

Across all service pages, the primary CTA button was changed from "Book a Service" to "Shop", linking users to the relevant product category rather than a booking flow.

Rationale: Service pricing is too variable for direct booking without a prior conversation. Examples:
- Apple CarPlay: starts at ~$700, can reach $2,500 depending on vehicle
- LED headlights: $300–$350/pair installed, but varies by vehicle and add-ons

Directing users to the shop lets them browse products and self-select, then initiate contact or checkout from there. This avoids setting false price expectations and works for both DIY buyers and installation customers.

Pricing

Labor assumption: ~0.75–1 hr. Varies significantly by vehicle (e.g., 15 min on a newer Civic vs. 2 hrs on an F-150).

Add-Ons

• Canbus Decoders (~$50/pair): Prevents vehicle error codes when LEDs are installed. Required on many vehicles that monitor bulb resistance (e.g., Jeep, Dodge).
• Coding (~$50): For Jeep/Dodge vehicles — software disables the bulb-check so the cluster doesn't flag LEDs as burned out. Alternative to Canbus decoders on supported platforms.

Four products to feature on the LED service page:
1. L2 bulbs
2. L3 bulbs
3. H2L bulbs (HID-replacement)
4. Canbus decoders

Warranty

Add to the "Professional Installation" section: LED headlight replacements sold by Flynn Audio include a 3-year warranty.

Note: Sam flagged that manufacturer claims of "50,000 hour" lifespan can be misleading — the 3-year warranty is the practical customer-facing commitment.

Gallery

• Keep the Honda Civic image (common vehicle, easy install — relatable)
• Replace the "Amazon special" truck image
• The old Bronco image is acceptable to show range (older vehicles can be upgraded too)
• Sam has before/after LED photos from recent installs — send to Karly to replace placeholders

Marine Audio Service Page

Status

Page exists with correct copy structure and shop section pulling boat-category products. Primary issue is placeholder images that are not marine-relevant (one was identified as a Cadillac interior).

Required Updates

• Replace all gallery/background images with actual marine audio installation photos
• Ensure shop section correctly pulls products tagged to the boat/marine category (confirmed working — "Load More" present due to larger product count)

Motorcycle Services Page

Postponed. Sam has never completed a motorcycle dashcam/audio install and has only had two inquiries that didn't convert. Page exists but will not be actively promoted until there is demonstrated demand and at least one completed installation to reference.
