Quarra Italia Website Design Strategy
Design specifications and decisions for the Quarra Italia website, established during the Q4 strategy review. The homepage design was approved in this meeting; service pages and project pages are pending asset delivery from the Italian team.
Site Goals
- Showcase Quarra Italia's artisanal and architectural stonework to an international audience
- Drive traffic back to the main Quarra Stone USA website
- Provide a lightweight, visually-led presence that links to the established Quarra brand
- Capture inquiries from European and international clients via a direct contact form
Approved Homepage Structure
The homepage design was approved with the following sections, top to bottom:
- Static hero image — artisan at work (chiseling/carving); no rotation needed
- Services section — two service categories (see below)
- Project highlights — a curated sample of 4 projects (2 artisanal, 2 architectural)
- Link to Quarra Stone USA — connecting visitors to the established parent brand
- Instagram feed — pulling from the Quarra Italia Instagram account (Cervieti by Quarra)
For the project highlights grid, the team agreed on a two-column layout over three columns to maximize visual impact of the stonework photography. Mobile rendering was a secondary consideration supporting this choice.
Service Pages
Two service pages are planned, each with its own dedicated page:
Artisanal Carving
- Focus on hand-carved, custom figurative and decorative stonework
- Should prominently feature the plaster mold collection — described as the largest private collection of plaster molds in the world
- Include capability to create new plaster models from clay (custom figure → mold → carving)
- Relevant for clients who want to select from existing catalog or commission entirely new pieces
Architectural & Historic Restoration
- Focus on restoration and fabrication for architectural and historic contexts
- Assets to be sourced from Gigi (Italian team contact for architectural projects)
Projects Page
- Displays all projects with filtering by category (artisanal / architectural)
- Two-column grid layout (consistent with homepage highlights)
- Initial population: 2 artisanal + 2 architectural projects
- Project entries to include: project name, brief bio/description, and photography
- Assets to be gathered from Federica (artisanal) and Gigi (architectural) via shared drive folder
Multilingual Support
The site will include a language selector in the header. Planned languages:
- English
- Italian
- French
- German
- Spanish
Blog content will not be duplicated on the Quarra Italia site — the blog will link back to the Quarra Stone USA blog to avoid content management overhead and consolidate SEO value on the main domain.
Contact Form
- Primary recipient:
info@quarraitalia.com - BCC:
sales@quarrastone.com(for US team visibility into inbound inquiries) - Italian team responds directly; US team maintains oversight
About Page
- Placeholder content in place; final copy to draw from the original Cervieti studio history
- Will reference Quarra's acquisition of the studio and future vision
- Links back to Quarra Stone USA for full company background
SEO Considerations
- Cervieti-related search terms to be incorporated into on-page copy to capture existing brand awareness
- Primary SEO goal is to surface Quarra Italia for relevant European and international searches
- Blog traffic and domain authority to be built via the main Quarra Stone site, with Quarra Italia linking back
Asset Pipeline
All assets are being coordinated through a shared Google Drive folder. Key contacts on the Italian side:
- Federica (Fede) — artisanal project assets, bios, project names
- Gigi — architectural project assets
Lauren (Quarra Stone) is the primary liaison for coordinating asset delivery. Lincoln (Quarra Stone) to engage the Italian team directly to prompt action, including during the weekly Wednesday sales call with the Italian studio.
