Skaalen Website Updates & Content Maintenance

Tracked list of website content updates identified during the October 2025 monthly marketing call. These range from outdated images and stale service listings to new feature additions (testimonials carousel, accessibility plugin).

Pending Updates

1. Heritage Center — Replace Header Image

Status: Pending
Issue: The current header image on the Heritage Center page features Sherry Kellogg, who has not worked at Skaalen for several years. The resident pictured has also since passed.
Action: Replace with a stock photo of similar vibe (caregiver/resident interaction) until a suitable facility photo is available.

2. Heritage Center — Remove Full-Time RN Unit Manager Reference

Status: Pending
Issue: The page lists a full-time RN unit manager position as a feature of Heritage Center. This role was eliminated when Sherry Kellogg left and no longer exists.
Action: Remove the second bullet referencing the full-time RN unit manager.

3. Foot Care Clinic — Remove or Mark Unavailable

Status: Pending
Issue: Foot care clinic is listed as an amenity under Independent Living (and possibly other sections), but the service is not currently being offered.
Action: Remove the listing entirely. Kris confirmed it is easier to remove and re-add later than to mark as temporarily closed. Can be restored when service resumes.

4. Beauty & Barber Shop — Confirm "Temporarily Closed" Language Across All Pages

Status: Needs verification
Issue: The beauty/barber shop was previously noted as "temporarily closed." Kris wants to confirm this language is consistent across all relevant pages (not just one section).
Action: Audit all pages that reference the beauty/barber shop and ensure consistent "temporarily closed" language appears everywhere, or remove if preferred.

5. Homepage — Add Rotating Testimonials

Status: In progress
Issue: The homepage currently displays only a single testimonial with one dot indicator. Kris noted other sites use a rotating carousel of 3–4 testimonials.
Action:
Implement a rotating testimonials carousel on the homepage.
Melissa to select candidate testimonials from Google Reviews and send to Dawn for team review/approval before publishing.
Dawn to re-send the Patty D. testimonial (originally sent July 21) for inclusion.
Note: A negative 1-star review from 2024 exists (former family member unhappy about re-admission denial). Skaalen team has already responded appropriately; no further action needed.

6. Implement Accessibility Plugin

Status: Pending
Issue: The Skaalen site does not currently have an accessibility toolbar. Other Asymmetric clients have this in place.
Action: Add the accessibility plugin (allows users to adjust text size, contrast, etc.) to the Skaalen website.

ADP Careers Page — Separate System

These items are managed within ADP (third-party HR platform) and require Skaalen internal access to resolve:

Missing images on the careers/jobs listing page — Sam or Brianna to follow up with ADP directly.
Job posting age display ("30+ days ago") — Kris flagged this as making long-open positions look bad. Skaalen to investigate whether ADP allows hiding or suppressing the date counter.

Asymmetric does not have backend access to ADP. Skaalen's HR team (Sam/Brianna) owns this.

Recurring Maintenance Notes

Menus: Menu updates have become more consistent. The contact (Raphael) has been re-engaged and is now CC'ing Melissa on sends. Continue monitoring for consistency.
Holiday/January planning: Dawn noted that new collateral and ad updates will be needed as the holidays approach, with a full refresh in January.
