# PWA Development Kickoff — 2026-03-27

## Overview

Development on the Advanced Health & Safety Progressive Web App (PWA) is set to begin the week of 2026-03-31. The project has a dual mandate: deliver a useful field tool to Advanced Health & Safety, and build something marketable to other environmental service companies nationwide.

This was discussed during the [[wiki/meetings/2026-03-27-weekly-call-karly|2026-03-27 Weekly Call with Karly]].

---

## Key Decisions

- **PWA over native app:** The app will be built as a Progressive Web App — users navigate to a URL and it behaves like a native app, without requiring an App Store download. This avoids app store friction for the initial release.
- **Mobile-first field use:** The app needs to support field workers taking photos and logging data on-site. Responsiveness across phones and tablets is a core requirement.
- **Dual-purpose strategy:** Mark will simultaneously build a prospect list of environmental service companies to market the app to once it's stable. AHS is effectively the anchor client for a broader SaaS offering.
- **Gina's templates as foundation:** Gina provided process/layout templates during a Tuesday call; Mark will use these to lay out the initial app structure before testing begins.

---

## Development Plan

### Phase 1 — Layout & Structure (Week of 2026-03-31)
- Mark lays out the app using Gina's provided templates
- Initial build scoped to be simpler than Aiden — less granular detail, fewer edge cases

### Phase 2 — Testing Sprint (Week of 2026-03-31)
- Team testing session to be scheduled with Sebastian and Melissa (not just Karly)
- Same feedback loop used for Aiden: testers flag issues → Mark fixes → retest
- Gina has also expressed urgency; timeline pressure is real

---

## Parallel Marketing Initiative

Mark has begun building a prospect list of environmental service companies across the US. The intent is to position the AHS PWA as a licensable SaaS product once it's proven with the anchor client.

> "I want to also market it to every other environmental service company in the country. And so I've already started building that list, but we need to build the app." — Mark Hope
