# Domain Setup for Salesforce Email Campaigns

## Overview

PaperTube has been sending emails from their primary domain (`papertube.co`) rather than a dedicated sending domain. To support Salesforce email campaigns properly, they need a separate domain configured for outbound email. PaperTube has no internal tech team, so Asymmetric is handling the setup end-to-end.

This came up in the [[wiki/meetings/2026-01-30-weekly-sync-mark-karly|Jan 30 weekly sync]], where Karly flagged the need and Mark agreed to join the Feb 5 PaperTube call to guide domain selection and configuration.

## Current Situation

- PaperTube's primary domain: `papertube.co`
- No dedicated sending domain exists
- No internal tech team — client cannot self-configure DNS or domain settings
- Email campaigns are being run through Salesforce (Account Engagement / Pardot)
- Website currently on Shopify; client has expressed interest in migrating to WordPress

## Domain Options Discussed

Mark reviewed available domains during the Jan 30 sync. Candidates include:

- `papertube.pro`
- `papertube.io`
- `papertube.app`
- `papertube.shop`
- `papertube.ink`
- `papertube.one`
- `papertube.now`

No single option was selected — the decision will be made with the client on the Feb 5 call. Mark will guide Parag through the selection and initial setup process.

## Action Items

- [ ] **Mark** — Accept the Feb 5 PaperTube call invite (was auto-declined due to focus time block)
- [ ] **Mark** — Lead domain selection and setup walkthrough on the Feb 5 call
- [ ] **Mark** — Discuss web hosting and SEO services opportunity with Parag on the same call (see below)

## Related Opportunity: Web Hosting & SEO Services

During the Jan 30 sync, Karly surfaced that Parag had asked for web hosting recommendations. Key context:

- PaperTube's current Shopify site does not support their primary business goal (custom brand work) or SEO needs
- Karly indicated WordPress is Asymmetric's preferred platform; Parag noted a past negative experience with WordPress
- Mark will address the WordPress vs. Shopify distinction on the Feb 5 call and make the case for a WordPress site to support content marketing, blog publishing, and organic search
- Parag asked about pricing — Karly deferred; Mark will handle the pricing conversation

This represents a potential new revenue stream for web hosting, site management, and ongoing SEO/content services. Reference [[wiki/clients/current/papertube/_index|PaperTube client overview]] for broader account context.

## Notes

- Salesforce domain configuration (DNS records, DKIM, SPF) can be completed after the domain is purchased — not required on the Feb 5 call
- PaperTube is also in the process of building out ~30 Account Engagement emails; Evogary is assisting Raphael with this workload given capacity constraints
