# Agility Recovery Terminology & Branding Updates

A reference guide for all terminology, naming, and branding conventions to apply across Agility Recovery course content. These changes were aligned with Gus Donelson in the [[clients/agility-recovery/_index|Agility Recovery]] course review meeting on 2025-11-21.

## Terminology Changes

Apply these substitutions globally across all Rise360 modules and any new Storyline content.

| Old Term | New Term | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Agility Planner | My Agility | Product name change |
| Cyber Security / Cybersecurity | Cyber Resilience | Reflects updated brand positioning |
| Vendor | Salesperson | Internal preference |
| Customer | Member or Prospect | Capitalize both terms (see below) |

### Capitalization of "Member" and "Prospect"

Gus confirmed that **Member** and **Prospect** should be capitalized throughout course content, even though they are not proper nouns in a strict grammatical sense. The intent is to signal their importance to the audience and reinforce Agility's member-centric language.

## Acronym Definitions

- Define all acronyms fully on **first use within each course**. Do not assume a learner has completed a prior module.
- Example: write "Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR)" on first use, then "BCDR" thereafter — within that course only.
- This is especially important for regulatory and compliance terminology, which is dense with abbreviations.

## SOAR Program Naming

- Mention SOAR in early modules to orient learners to the program context.
- Do **not** prefix every module title with "SOAR" (e.g., avoid "SOAR Vertical Part 2"). The program name does not need to appear in all titles.
- SOAR's prominence in course content is expected to grow over time; for the V1 launch, light integration is sufficient.

## "What You'll Learn" Objectives

- Include a "What You'll Learn" section consistently across all modules.
- Keep bullet lists concise — **fewer than 10 bullets** per section. Combine or trim AI-generated lists as needed.
- Structure: Introduction → What You'll Learn → Content → Summary of what was learned.

## External Links

- Do not add external links throughout course content.
- Instead, where a learner might want to explore further, add a note:
  > *"Want to learn more? Search for this topic in Co-Pilot."*
- This keeps learners within Agility's internal tooling and avoids link rot.

## Asset References in Examples

- When referencing deployed equipment in examples, use the **asset type**, not a specific unit ID number.
  - ✅ "We deployed a Mobile Recovery Center (MRC) and a generator."
  - ❌ "We deployed MRC unit #427 and generator #89."

## Product Renaming (Pending)

All Agility Recovery product names are being renamed due to a **copyright conflict**. The current "Ready" product line names (e.g., Ready Power, Ready Fuel) have been in use for 10+ years but are copyrighted by another company.

**Affected names (current → TBD):**
- Ready Power → *new name TBD*
- Ready Fuel → *new name TBD*
- All other "Ready [X]" product names → *TBD*

> ⚠️ **Do not finalize any course content that prominently features these product names.** Once new names are confirmed by Agility leadership, a content update pass will be required across all modules.

The MRC / MRU asset naming conventions are also under review as part of this effort.

## Visual Branding

Course visual design is **on hold** pending delivery from Agility's long-term graphic designer (7+ year relationship, responsible for website and all marketing collateral). Gus shared existing design examples and the Asymmetric-produced samples with the designer for reference.

- Do not invest further effort in custom visual treatments until the designer delivers approved assets.
- Once assets are received, apply them consistently across Rise360 modules and Storyline courses.
