# EYDN.app Brand Guide

## Overview

EYDN.app is a wedding planning web application built by Mark Hope. As of March 2026, the app is a functional prototype with core infrastructure in place (database, authentication, seating chart, guest management, and a built-in chat interface) but has not yet received design or branding attention. This article documents the brand guide to be developed for the app and serves as the home for brand assets once generated.

The brand guide is being produced by Karly Oykhman using Claude, then handed off to Mark for implementation directly into the app's UI.

## Project Context

The app was built rapidly ("literally just last night") with a focus on functionality over aesthetics. Mark's explicit framing: *"I didn't spend any time making it look beautiful or anything. I just tried to get it working."*

The branding effort is the first step toward making EYDN.app presentable to real users. Once the brand guide is finalized, Mark will apply the visual identity (colors, fonts, logo) across the app's interface.

## Brand Guide Scope

The brand guide should cover the following elements. Karly is generating these via Claude using the app's purpose and feature set as context.

### Logo
- Primary logo mark and wordmark for "EYDN.app"
- Usage guidelines (minimum size, clear space, placement)
- Light and dark background variants

### Color Palette
- Primary brand color(s)
- Secondary / accent colors
- Neutral / background tones
- Hex codes and usage context for each

### Typography
- Primary typeface (headings)
- Secondary typeface (body / UI text)
- Font weights, sizes, and hierarchy guidelines

### Visual Identity
- Overall tone and aesthetic (e.g., elegant, modern, romantic, minimal)
- Iconography style
- Imagery / photography direction if applicable

## Generation Process

**Prompt approach (recommended):**
Provide Claude with:
1. The app name: EYDN.app
2. The app's purpose: wedding planning tool for couples
3. Key features: seating chart, guest management, vendor tracking, budget, chat assistant
4. Desired tone: (to be decided — suggest options like romantic-modern, clean-minimal, warm-celebratory)
5. Request: generate a complete brand guide including logo concept, color palette with hex codes, typography stack, and usage guidelines

**Output format:** Ask Claude to produce the brand guide as a structured document (markdown or Google Doc) that can be shared directly with Mark.

Once generated, Karly sends the brand guide to Mark. Mark implements it in the app codebase — updating CSS variables, fonts, and any logo/icon assets.
