# FinWellU Trademark & Legal Updates

Global site updates required before the Feb 17, 2026 launch, covering trademark symbol corrections, footer disclaimer removal, privacy policy replacement, and social media profile setup. These changes apply across all pages of the FinWellU website.

## Context

During the [[wiki/clients/nlpwm/meetings/2026-02-10-finwellu-website-pre-launch-review|Feb 10 pre-launch review call]], Peter Tourville and John Jonas identified several branding and legal inconsistencies that needed to be resolved before go-live. Most of these are global changes affecting every page of the site.

## Trademark Symbol: ™ → ®

**Decision:** Replace all instances of `™` with `®` for the phrase "Financial Wellness Done Right" across the entire site.

**Rationale:** "Financial Wellness Done Right" has been officially registered with the federal government. The `™` symbol is used during the pending period; once approved, the correct symbol is `®`. Peter Tourville flagged this during the call and asked Karly Oykhman to verify before implementing.

**Scope:** All pages — homepage, You Thrive, Retire U, Employers, About Us, and any other occurrences site-wide.

## Footer Disclaimer Removal

**Decision:** Remove the following LPL-specific legal language from the blue footer section on all pages:

- "All rights reserved" line
- "Securities offered through…" disclaimer
- LPL tracking number

**Rationale:** These disclaimers are specific to LPL Financial and do not apply to all FinWellU services or audiences. Leaving them in place would be misleading and potentially non-compliant for the broader FinWellU offering.

**What to keep:** Phone number and address may remain temporarily while John Jonas works to obtain a dedicated FinWellU phone number and email address at the FinWellU domain.

## Privacy Policy Replacement

**Decision:** Replace the existing privacy policy link — which currently opens an LPL Financial PDF — with a generic, on-page privacy policy using Asymmetric's boilerplate language.

**Requirements:**
- Must be a standalone webpage, not a PDF pop-out
- Should use standard boilerplate language (Asymmetric has this on file)
- Should not reference LPL or any third-party financial institution

## Social Media: Facebook Removal & LinkedIn Setup

### Facebook
**Decision:** Remove the Facebook icon from the site header entirely.

**Rationale:** The team does not anticipate using Facebook for FinWellU in the near term. The icon can be re-added later if needed.

### LinkedIn
**Decision:** Create a FinWellU LinkedIn company page and link it in the site header before the Feb 17 launch.

**Suggested page name:** "FinWellU" or "Financial Wellness Done Right"

## Phone Number & Email Address

**Status (as of Feb 10):** John Jonas is in the process of obtaining a dedicated FinWellU phone number. An initial number was provisioned but was not the correct format. A FinWellU email address at the FinWellU domain also needs to be set up.

**Interim approach:** Leave the existing phone number and address in the footer until the new contact details are confirmed.
