# BluePoint ATM On-Screen Graphic Design

Design decisions and feedback for the reverse ATM on-screen graphic shown to customers approaching a BluePoint ATM kiosk. Decisions captured from the [[clients/bluepoint-atm/_index|BluePoint ATM]] February 2026 marketing review.

## Context

The on-screen graphic rotates in a carousel alongside required compliance screens (e.g., "insert your card here"). The graphic is the primary brand-facing moment for customers approaching a traditional ATM, so it needs to be visually engaging and clearly branded.

The first draft was reviewed live during the call. Karly shared the animation — a two-screen sequence: an idle/tap screen followed by a branded motion screen.

## Design Decisions

### Copy / Text

- **Decision:** Replace the current text ("trusted, dependable, secure") with new copy.
- **Rationale:** The existing tagline is too generic and doesn't differentiate BluePoint.
- **Owner:** Wade Zirkle to draft and provide new text.
- The phrase "tap or touchless" was noted positively and may be retained or built upon.

### Animation

- **Decision:** Animate the decorative wave/curve elements ("squigglies" / "tilt") on the second screen.
- **Rationale:** Motion makes the graphic more dynamic and eye-catching for approaching customers.
- **Owner:** Karly Oykhman to implement once text is confirmed.

### Logo Placement

- **Decision:** Add a small BluePoint logo to the **top-left corner** of the first screen.
- **Rationale:** Top-left is the natural starting point for reading (left-to-right), consistent with standard website navigation conventions. Mike noted this as his default; Mark reinforced it as a web/UX norm.
- **Owner:** Karly Oykhman to implement.

### QR Code

- **Decision:** Do **not** add a QR code to the on-screen graphic.
- **Rationale:** The physical sides of the ATM machine already have QR codes that link to an app for the cashless transaction process. Adding a second QR code on the screen risks confusing customers about which code to scan and what it does.

## Screen Structure

| Screen | Content | Notes |
|--------|---------|-------|
| Screen 1 | Idle/tap prompt + BluePoint logo (top-left) | Shown before customer interaction |
| Screen 2 | Animated wave elements + tagline/brand message | Shown after tap / as carousel item |

## Open Items

- [ ] Wade to provide new copy to replace "trusted, dependable, secure"
- [ ] Karly to add BluePoint logo to top-left of Screen 1
- [ ] Karly to animate the wave/curve elements on Screen 2
- [ ] Karly to email the graphic file to Wade and Mike for async review
