# Bulk Send Domain Strategy — Bluepoint

## Overview

To protect the primary `bluepoint.com` domain's sender reputation, all bulk marketing emails sent via HubSpot are routed through a dedicated subdomain: `bluepoint.co`. This pattern isolates high-volume outbound sends from the domain used for day-to-day business correspondence, reducing the risk of the primary domain being flagged or blacklisted.

This approach was agreed upon by the Bluepoint stakeholders (Wade and Mike) and is now being implemented for the stadium campaign automation.

---

## The Problem

Sending bulk marketing email from a primary business domain (`@bluepoint.com`) exposes that domain to deliverability risk. If recipients mark messages as spam, or if bounce rates climb, the domain's reputation suffers — affecting all outbound email, including transactional and personal correspondence.

---

## The Solution

Use a dedicated sending domain (`bluepoint.co`) exclusively for HubSpot bulk sends:

- **From address:** `mike@bluepoint.co`
- **Reply-to / footer:** Mike's real `.com` address, so direct replies and engagement go to his normal inbox
- **Forwarding:** Replies to the `.co` address forward to the `.com` inbox

This keeps bulk send reputation isolated while ensuring any genuine prospect responses reach the right person through normal channels.

> "That .co should just be for the bulk emails… if somebody does reply back, it gets forwarded to the .com."

## Implementation Status

| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| `.co` domain configured for HubSpot sending | ✅ Done |
| SMTP set up on `.co` domain | ✅ Done |
| `mike@bluepoint.co` email address created | ⏳ Pending (Mark to complete) |
| Stadium campaign From: updated to `mike@bluepoint.co` | ⏳ Pending |
| Reply-to and footer updated to Mike's `.com` address | ⏳ Pending |

**Note:** The `.com` domain is also approved for HubSpot sending. Care must be taken to ensure the `.co` is selected as the sending domain for all bulk campaigns.

---

## Key Decisions

- **Bulk sends only:** The `.co` address is strictly for HubSpot marketing automation. Mike should use his regular `.com` email for all direct correspondence.
- **Footer contact info:** The email footer should display Mike's real `.com` contact details so prospects can engage directly.
- **Prior sends:** The entertainment campaign was sent from `wade@bluepoint.co`. The stadium campaign should be updated to send from `mike@bluepoint.co`.
