# Citrus America December Newsletter

Planning notes for the December 2024 newsletter send to Citrus America's contact list, covering content direction, design timeline, exclusion list, and target send date.

## Overview

The December newsletter was planned during the [[clients/citrus-america/_index|Citrus America]] monthly call on December 4, 2024. Ben San Fratello is drafting copy based on direction from Miriam Framson, with Raphael handling layout. Target send date is **Tuesday, December 10**.

Miriam provided general content direction and gave the team latitude on design. Ben noted no outstanding questions on the brief — Miriam's expectation is that she'll do light plug-and-play edits on her end during review.

## Contact Exclusion List

Two inactive sales rep groups must be excluded from this send:

- **KLH**
- **Dickey Enterprises**

Miriam set both groups to "non-marketing" status in HubSpot, but that change does not take effect until January 1. As an interim measure, **Melissa will create a manual exclusion list** for the December send to ensure neither group receives the newsletter.

> **Why not just delete them?** The "Sales Rep" contact property must be retained to preserve page view and session tracking data. Contacts marked as non-marketing lose that visibility in HubSpot, so the property is being kept while the contacts are excluded from sends manually for now.

## HubSpot Notes

- Exclusion list creation is an action item for Melissa before the Dec 10 send.
- This is a one-time workaround; starting January 1, the non-marketing designation will handle exclusions automatically.
