# HubSpot Timezone Bug — 9 PM CST Instead of 9 AM

## Overview

A confirmed bug in HubSpot causes scheduled social media posts to be set for **9 PM CST** instead of the intended **9 AM CST**. The issue appears to be related to timezone handling — likely when a user in a significantly different timezone (e.g., UTC+13/+14) schedules posts using local time inputs. The bug was surfaced during a [[wiki/meetings/2026-03-17-social-media-connect-roy-onboarding|Roy onboarding call]] on 2026-03-17.

## Symptoms

- User sets a post time of 9 AM on a given date
- HubSpot saves and displays the scheduled time as 9 PM on the same or previous date
- In some cases, posts have gone out at unexpected times (e.g., 2 AM) due to similar timezone mismatches
- The scheduled date can also shift by one day (e.g., appearing as the 17th when the 18th was intended), consistent with a 12–13 hour offset being applied incorrectly

## Root Cause (Suspected)

HubSpot appears to be interpreting the user's local time input against the account's configured timezone (CST), resulting in a 12-hour AM/PM inversion. This is most pronounced when the scheduling user is ~13 hours ahead of CST. Whether this is a HubSpot account-level timezone setting issue or a per-user profile issue is still under investigation.

## Impact

- All posts scheduled by remote team members in non-CST timezones must be **manually verified** before they go live
- Risk of client-facing posts publishing at incorrect times without manual review
- Adds overhead to the review process for every scheduled post

## Workaround (Current)

Manually verify the scheduled time for every post after saving. Confirm both the **date** and **AM/PM** are correct before leaving the scheduler. This is being done as standard practice until a permanent fix is in place.

## Resolution Status

**Open — Under Investigation**

Melissa Cusumano is investigating a permanent fix via HubSpot's user or account settings. Possible avenues include:

- Setting a fixed timezone at the account or user profile level in HubSpot preferences
- Ensuring all scheduling users have their HubSpot profile timezone explicitly set to CST regardless of their local system timezone

No fix has been confirmed as of 2026-03-17.

## Action Items

| Owner | Action |
|---|---|
| Melissa Cusumano | Investigate HubSpot user/account timezone settings for a permanent fix |
| All scheduling users | Manually verify date and AM/PM on all scheduled posts until resolved |
