# Show Rate Improvement — In-Call Zoom Link Recovery

## Overview

A ~50% show rate is a common friction point in outbound lead generation. One lightweight tactic to recover no-shows in real time: if a prospect hasn't joined within the first 5 minutes of a scheduled call, send them a direct email with the Zoom link. This gives them a low-friction re-entry point without requiring a reschedule.

The tactic was surfaced during a check-in between Asymmetric and PEMA.io in March 2026, attributed to a tip shared via Slack (from Janet).

## The Tactic

**Trigger:** Prospect has not joined the call within ~5 minutes of the scheduled start time.

**Action:** The host sends a brief email to the prospect with the Zoom link and a low-pressure message — e.g., *"Hey, you may not have had the Zoom link handy — here it is."*

**Rationale:**
- Prospects sometimes forget, lose the calendar invite, or simply can't find the link quickly
- A short, non-accusatory email gives them an easy out and a direct path back in
- The host is already on the call, so the marginal effort is minimal
- Avoids the need to immediately reschedule, preserving pipeline momentum

## Division of Responsibility

This tactic fits into a broader show rate process where pre-call reminders (emails, texts) are handled by the outreach team (PEMA.io in this case). The in-call Zoom link recovery is the one step that falls to the **host** (i.e., the salesperson or account owner), since they are the ones on the call and aware of the no-show in real time.

| Stage | Owner |
|---|---|
| Pre-call reminders (email + SMS) | Outreach team / SDR |
| In-call Zoom link recovery email | Call host (AE / founder) |

## Evidence

Discussed in the 2026-03-18 Asymmetric × PEMA.io check-in:

> "If you're on the call and the person's not there within like a few minutes, say five minutes or so — shooting them an email, 'hey, you probably couldn't access the Zoom link, here it is.' That just gives people an out."
> — Cindy M, PEMA.io

Mark Hope (Asymmetric) confirmed he was not doing any outreach to no-shows during the call window, and agreed to test this approach.
