# Blog Content Delivery via ClickUp

Once a blog post has completed the full [[wiki/knowledge/project-management/blog-writing-workflow-claude-surfer]] production process, the finalized draft is delivered to the Account Manager (AM) via a ClickUp task. This article covers the delivery step specifically.

## Overview

The delivery step closes the loop between the writer (Gavin) and the AM reviewer (Karly, Melissa). The goal is a clean, editable document that the AM can review and mark ready for client delivery — without needing to access Surfer or Claude directly.

## Delivery Format

All finalized blog posts are delivered as **Google Docs**, not Surfer links or raw Claude chat links.

**Rationale:**
- Not all team members have Surfer logins or can view Surfer content consistently
- AMs were previously copying Claude output into Google Docs manually — this step eliminates that overhead
- Google Docs allow AM edits and comments before client delivery

### Exporting from Surfer to Google Doc

The recommended export path preserves internal links and formatting:

1. In Surfer's Content Editor, **export the optimized draft as a `.docx` file** (not copy-paste — copy-paste loses hyperlinks)
2. Upload the `.docx` to Google Drive; Google will convert it automatically
3. Verify that internal links survived the conversion before proceeding

> **Note:** Copying text directly from Surfer into Claude or a Google Doc strips hyperlinks. Always use the `.docx` export.

## What to Include in the Google Doc

For most clients, the Google Doc contains only the final blog content. For clients who track SEO metrics (currently **Citrus America / Brian**), include the following at the top of the document:

```
Target Keyword: [keyword]
Surfer Health Score: [score]
```

This satisfies the client's requirement to see SEO data without requiring them to access Surfer.

## Posting to ClickUp

1. Complete the full draft (Claude → Surfer → Claude review → Google Doc)
2. Place the Google Doc in the appropriate client content folder in Google Drive
3. Paste the Google Doc link into the relevant **ClickUp task**
4. Add a comment: *"Ready for review"* or equivalent status update
5. The AM will review and either approve or return with feedback

## Task Assignment Hygiene

If a ClickUp task assigned to Gavin is **not a writing task** (e.g., a WordPress update, content upload, or other non-writing work), flag it immediately rather than letting it sit:

- Ping Melissa or Karly in Slack
- They will reassign to the appropriate team member (e.g., Raphael for WordPress tasks)
