# Vyond AI Video Creation Tool

## Overview

Vyond (stylized V-Y-O-N-D) is an AI-powered video creation platform that allows users to produce animated or character-driven training videos without deep technical skill in video production. It surfaced as a candidate tool at Agility Recovery during the SOAR sales onboarding project, where the client's learning leader identified a gap between the accessibility of their existing Articulate Rise content and the engagement level needed for effective learner retention.

## Context: Why Vyond Came Up

Agility Recovery's SOAR program was built entirely in Articulate Rise — a rapid-authoring format that is quick to produce but acknowledged by the client as "really just reading" despite click-through interactions. Gus Donelson (Learning Leader, Agility Recovery) described the limitation directly:

> *"Doing 15 different courses in Rise, even though you're clicking and doing things, it's really just reading. So I want to create some more engaging video content that will take it to the next level."*

Vyond was identified as a potential solution for producing that more engaging video content without requiring specialized motion graphics or video editing expertise.

## Pilot Status

As of the SOAR handover kickoff meeting (April 2026), Gus Donelson was preparing to begin a **personal pilot of Vyond the following week**. The pilot had not yet been formally scoped or contracted — it was an exploratory evaluation to determine whether the tool fit Agility Recovery's needs and skill level.

Key pilot goals:
- Assess ease of use for a solo learning leader without a dedicated video team
- Evaluate output quality relative to Rise-based e-learning
- Determine suitability for the planned SOAR 2.0 content upgrade and the Elevate continuous education program

## Relevance to Asymmetric Projects

Vyond is relevant to Asymmetric's work with Agility Recovery in two ways:

1. **SOAR 2.0:** If the pilot is successful, Vyond-produced videos could replace or supplement the current Rise modules with more dynamic content. This may create a production or scripting engagement for Asymmetric.
2. **Elevate Program:** The monthly continuous education initiative (skill training, product updates, soft skills) would benefit from a scalable video format. Vyond's AI-assisted workflow could reduce per-module production time, making a monthly cadence feasible.

## Considerations

| Factor | Notes |
|---|---|
| Skill barrier | Designed for non-specialists; lower barrier than Articulate Storyline or traditional video production |
| Output format | AI-generated animated video; not screen-recording or live-action |
| Ownership | Gus is piloting independently; Asymmetric is not currently licensed or contracted for Vyond work |
| Relationship to Storyline | Vyond is being considered as an alternative to the Storyline simulations that were deprioritized for the Tech Stack module |
| Cost | Not discussed; budget approval would be a client-side decision |
