# Product Page UX Redesign — Doudlah Farms

## Overview

During the December 2025 marketing review, a revised product detail page (PDP) layout was approved for the Doudlah Farms WooCommerce store. The changes align the site's UX more closely with Amazon's familiar product page pattern, reducing friction for shoppers who are accustomed to that layout.

Implementation is owned by Karly, in coordination with developer Mark.

## Approved Changes

| Element | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Short description | Below product images / buy box | **Moved to top**, directly under the product title |
| Image thumbnails | Default WooCommerce position (below main image) | **Repositioned to the left** of the main image |

## Rationale

The primary driver is **familiarity**. Amazon's product page places the short description (bullet points) prominently near the top of the page, above the fold, so shoppers can quickly scan key product attributes before committing to scroll. Mirroring this pattern on the Doudlah Farms store is expected to improve usability and reduce drop-off on product pages.

> "Mimics the familiar Amazon UX for improved usability." — meeting summary, 2025-12-12

## Status

- **Decision:** Approved in the 2025-12-12 marketing call
- **Owner:** Karly Oykhman (implementation)
- **Developer:** Mark Doudlah (technical execution)
- **Action item:** Implement PDP UX improvements — short description under buy buttons; move thumbnails left
