# Flynn Audio Remote Start Page Optimization

A set of fixes and improvements identified during the [[wiki/clients/flynn-audio/_index|Flynn Audio]] February 2026 marketing review. The remote start page has pricing errors, missing product photography, and SEO gaps that need to be addressed before the next campaign push.

## Issues Identified

### Pricing Error on Home Shop Page

The DC-3 and DC-X remote start models are displaying incorrect base prices on the Home Shop page. The page appears to be pre-selecting add-ons (e.g., a harness or remote kit at ~$100) before the customer makes any choices, inflating the displayed starting price.

- **Expected prices:** DC-3 at $200, DC-X at $225
- **Root cause:** Add-on options are pre-selected by default, adding to the base price before the customer interacts with the page
- **Fix:** Remove pre-selected add-ons so the flat base price displays correctly on load

> "The DC-3 and DC-X pricing, I feel like is different than what I last changed it to. Should be $200 and $225... Is it like pre-selecting a $100 harness or $100 remote kit?" — Sam Flynn

### Missing Product Photography for Remote Options

The remote start product listings lack photos of the actual remote controls. Sam noted that the visual distinction between remote tiers (e.g., a small one-button fob vs. a large color-screen remote) is a meaningful selling point that isn't currently communicated on the page.

- Harness photos are low priority — Sam doesn't care about those
- Remote photos are high priority — customers are choosing between meaningfully different form factors and feature sets

### SEO and Cross-Linking Gaps

The remote start page is not fully optimized for search, and there are no cross-links between related pages on the site. Sam also flagged the need for a reminder mechanism to re-enable Google AdWords for remote start when the season begins.

## Action Items

- [ ] Fix Home Shop page pricing — remove pre-selected add-ons on DC-3 and DC-X so base price displays correctly (@Karly Oykhman)
- [ ] Add product photos of remote options to the remote start page — prioritize the range from basic fob to color-screen remote (@Karly Oykhman)
- [ ] Optimize remote start page for SEO (@Karly Oykhman)
- [ ] Add cross-links between remote start page and related pages (e.g., iDataStart, vehicle compatibility) (@Karly Oykhman)
- [ ] Add AdWords seasonal reminder to account notes so ads are re-enabled at the right time (@Karly Oykhman)

## Product Context

Understanding the product lineup helps inform how the page should be structured:

| Product | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| DC-3 | Brain only (a la carte) | Requires separate remote + harness selection |
| DC-X | Brain only (a la carte) | Requires separate remote + harness selection |
| iDataStart | All-in-one package | Brain + remote + harness bundled; better price than a la carte; good for vehicles without a T-harness |

The DC-3 and iDataStart are functionally similar — iDataStart is essentially a sister brand packaged for better value. The page structure should make these distinctions clear to customers without overwhelming them.
