# L'Amarie Beauty — Staging Site Performance Optimization

## Overview

During the November 2025 service page redesign review, slow load times on the L'Amarie Beauty staging site were identified as a known issue. Isahaque proposed implementing a **category filter** as the primary solution, based on a prior demonstration. The filter needs to be built and reviewed with the client before the site goes live.

This is a pre-launch task: the client must approve the filter behavior before it is considered complete.

## Problem

The staging site exhibits slow page load times. The volume of content loaded without filtering is the likely cause. This is expected to improve once the site moves off staging, but a category filter is being implemented proactively to ensure acceptable performance in production as well.

## Proposed Solution

Implement a **category filter** on the relevant service listing pages to:

- Reduce the amount of content loaded on initial page render
- Improve perceived and actual load speed
- Provide a better browsing experience for end users

Isahaque had previously demonstrated a category filter approach in an earlier call, and Melissa confirmed this was the right direction.

## Action Items

- [ ] **Isahaque** — Build the category filter on the staging site
- [ ] **Melissa** — Review the filter with the client before launch
- [ ] **Client (Roxanna)** — Approve the filter behavior and presentation prior to go-live

## Context & Notes

- Discussed in the [[wiki/meetings/2025-11-07-lmb-service-page-redesign-review]] meeting
- This work is part of the broader [[wiki/clients/lamarie-beauty/_index]] service page redesign effort
- The category filter fix is considered a separate concern from the content/design changes being made to the service pages themselves
- Melissa noted that performance may naturally improve once off the staging environment, but the filter adds a durable long-term fix
