# Quarra Stone Website QC & Content Refresh

## Overview

During the October 2025 bi-weekly marketing sync, Lincoln reported user-flagged typos and at least one instance of project bio data appearing on the wrong project page. The team aligned on a parallel QC effort and established a forward-looking content refresh policy: marketing materials should prioritize projects less than five years old.

## QC Process

**Problem identified:** User-reported typos across the site, plus at least one project page displaying incorrect bio/description data from another project.

**Division of responsibility:**
- **Lauren** — QC project pages specifically; she has the domain knowledge to catch incorrect project data
- **Karly** — Run a site-wide grammar and typo pass

Both tasks were targeted for completion the day after the call (Lauren working from home).

> *"I think if you guys, I think it's good to go. Just roll with it."* — Lincoln, on the Miss Madison write-up

---

## Miss Madison Project

- Write-up reviewed and approved by Lauren and Lincoln
- Categories confirmed and sent to Karly
- Expected to go live within **1–2 weeks** of the call
- Project pages continue to support SEO; Karly noted they help Quarra rank well for relevant search terms

---

## Content Refresh Strategy

Lincoln established a policy to retire overused or aging project imagery from marketing materials:

- **Retire:** Collier Memorial — described as a 12-year-old project that has been overused across materials
- **Preferred:** Projects **5 years old or less** (roughly 2019–present)
- **Highlighted examples of newer assets:**
  - UVA Memorial (already on homepage)
  - JPMC imagery — pending approval from Jim before use; Lauren to pursue

> *"Let's just pause on Collier for a while and get some newer projects in there."* — Lincoln

This policy applies to both the website (rolling homepage imagery, project page thumbnails) and email marketing templates.

---

## Website Imagery Updates

- Lauren to source fresh photos and send Karly a replacement list once JPMC approval is secured
- Karly's team to begin adding imagery from recently submitted projects to relevant site pages (this had not been done consistently with new project submissions)
- The homepage currently opens to the UVA Memorial — considered acceptable
- Other homepage carousel entries (Obama, Collier, Eaton) flagged as dated; updates encouraged as new imagery becomes available

---

## Blog Strategy

- Lincoln is reviewing the full blog backlog to approve, revise, or scrap posts
- Goal: reduce the backlog from a large queue to a manageable set within a few weeks
- **Workflow for approvals:**
  - Lincoln emails Karly with blog title, subject, and link to the Google Doc
  - CC: Evoke (Avokerie Onorimuo)
  - Remove Mark from the CC list going forward
- Once a blog is approved, Lauren updates the imagery before it goes live
- Asymmetric has slowed new blog production slightly to allow the backlog to clear

---

## Action Items

| Owner | Task |
|---|---|
| Lauren | QC project pages for incorrect data |
| Karly | Site-wide typo/grammar check |
| Lauren | Source new project imagery; send replacement list to Karly once Jim approves JPMC use |
| Lauren | Update imagery on Lincoln-approved blog posts |
| Lincoln | Pursue Jim's approval for JPMC imagery |
| Lincoln | Email Karly + Evoke (not Mark) for blog approvals going forward |
| Karly | Add newer project imagery to existing site pages |
