Inventory Process Update — Box & Pallet Quantities

Overview

Gilbert (Doodla Farms) previously provided inventory lists in unit quantities (e.g., "716 one-pound units"), requiring manual conversion to box and pallet counts before placing orders. This created unnecessary calculation steps and introduced meaningful risk of ordering errors.

As of the sync on 2026-04-05, Mark aligned with Gilbert to change the format of inventory reporting going forward.

The Problem

When inventory is expressed in raw unit counts, the person placing the order must:

  1. Look up the product page to find units-per-box
  2. Perform the division manually
  3. Determine pallet quantities and weights separately

Any error in that math — a misread, a wrong units-per-box figure — could result in a significantly over- or under-ordered shipment.

"Every time you do manual math, you can make a mistake. And so you make a mistake and you order twice as much as you meant to." — Mark Hope

The Fix

Gilbert will now provide a new spreadsheet that expresses inventory needs directly in:

This eliminates the unit-to-box conversion step entirely and gives the person placing the order everything needed without additional calculation.
