The old JBF Concrete website remains live and needs to redirect to the new site (created with a hyphenated domain). The redirect cannot be completed because the firm does not have access to the old domain's registrar. This issue has been outstanding since at least the previous weekly call.
The old JBF Concrete domain is registered at GoDaddy (or similar registrar) and the nameservers have not been pointed to Cloudflare. Without registrar access, no redirect can be configured — the domain cannot be touched from the outside.
"We can't redirect a domain unless we can get access to it. Otherwise, everybody in the world would go around redirecting everybody else's domains." — Mark Hope
Asymmetric has already done its part: a Cloudflare configuration is in place and ready to receive the domain once nameservers are pointed over. The blocker is entirely on the client/registrar side.
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| New site (hyphenated domain) | ✅ Live, fully controlled by Asymmetric |
| Cloudflare configured for old domain | ✅ Ready |
| Old domain registrar access | ❌ Not obtained |
| Redirect active | ❌ Blocked |
Melissa will follow up with the JBF Concrete client to obtain registrar access (GoDaddy login or nameserver delegation). This was also flagged in the previous weekly call with no resolution — a second follow-up is overdue.
Once registrar access is granted, the nameservers can be pointed to Cloudflare and the redirect configured without further development work.
