Design feedback and revision requests for two key visuals used in the SOAR course series, reviewed during the December 19, 2025 sync with Gus Donelson.
Current state: A "gears" graphic where each gear represents one of the six pillars.
Feedback:
- The gears concept is conceptually sound (interconnected pillars working together) but is not visually compelling in its current execution.
- Acceptable for the initial launch; not a blocker.
- A prior version from Asymmetric's designer used icons inside an inner circle to represent each pillar — this was considered stronger but had readability tradeoffs when text was added.
Requested revision:
- Remove the separate "pillar" label text.
- Label each gear directly with the pillar name instead.
- Note: text length may be a constraint depending on gear size.
Decision: Ship the current version for launch; revisit after learner feedback is gathered.
Current state: A circular graphic representing the SOAR acronym with multiple text elements and supporting detail copy.
Feedback:
- The graphic is strong and aligns well with Agility Recovery's branding (color palette consistent with website and product catalog).
- Designer provided two versions: one with full training text, one without — the cleaner version was preferred.
- The goal is a true standalone visual that can be used as a quick reference or in-training anchor without requiring explanation.
Requested revision:
- Strip down to the SOAR acronym circle with icons only.
- Add the five full-word labels (Listen, Empathize, Ask, Relate, Navigate) on an outer ring around the circle — not inside it.
- Remove all supporting body text from the graphic itself; that content lives in the training materials and resource guide.
Rationale: When learners see this graphic in future contexts (e.g., a coaching prompt, a job aid), it should immediately recall the full framework without needing to re-read definitions.
Owner: Gus to send revision request to the designer.
| Graphic | Status | Next Action |
|---|---|---|
| Six Pillars (gears) | Acceptable / ship as-is | Gus requests label-on-gear revision |
| SOAR circle | Strong / needs simplification | Gus requests outer-ring label version |
