VCEDC Website — Page Inventory & Status

Tracks the design and build status of all pages in the VCEDC website redesign. Pages fall into two groups: those being updated with new imagery and content, and a second wave of five new pages entering the design queue.

Pages Being Updated (Wave 1)

Homepage

• Status: In progress
• New images placed; copy legibility issue resolved by moving text below hero images
• Testimonials section revised (see design decisions below)
• Success stories section needs updated links — Kathy sent new ones; designer to implement
• Section headline confirmed as "Business Success Stories"; supporting blurb removed

About Us

• Status: Awaiting content
• New photo added
• Updated copy coming from Kathy by Monday (sourced from recent grant writing)
• Melissa to clean up Miro board and remove old versions once copy is received

Leadership

• Status: Blocked (one item)
• Layout updated; bottom section removed
• Roger's photo: current submission unacceptable; Kathy will source a new one
• Duplicate photo of "gentleman on the deck" flagged — placeholder until replacement found

Broadband

• Status: Nearly final
• Top photo updated
• Live interactive map implemented (currently defaulting to wrong location — needs to be targeted to Vilas County area)
• No new videos for this page; existing content confirmed accurate

Entrepreneurs

• Status: In progress
• Some image reuse across pages — acceptable given limited photo library
• Many available photos show outdated "Business of the Month" plaques; avoid using more of these
• Banner image to be swapped to Remote Workers page; Kathy will source a replacement

Remote Workers

• Status: In progress
• Will receive the Entrepreneurs banner image as its new header
• Kathy to find a replacement header image for Entrepreneurs page

New Pages — Design Queue (Wave 2)

These five pages are next in the design sprint. Mock-ups expected by end of the week following the Oct 2 meeting.

Design Decisions Log

Testimonials Layout

• Decision: Flip order — quote first, attribution (name/title) below
• Decision: Add quotation marks to all testimonial quotes
• Decision: Rename section header from "Testimonials" to "What People Are Saying"
• Apply consistently across all pages where testimonials appear

Resource Logos (Business Resources / Entrepreneurs Page)

• Decision: All logos displayed at the same size — no single logo elevated above others
• Decision: Ordering priority: Nicolet College first, WEDC second, remaining partners after
• Water/scenery photo retained as bottom banner with no copy overlay

Image Selection Principles

• Avoid photos showing discontinued programs (e.g., Business of the Month plaques)
• Prefer images of currently active businesses
• Some image reuse across pages is acceptable — users rarely visit every page in sequence
• Bar/venue photos (e.g., Andy's Pontoon Saloon remote worker event) should be avoided
