Bulk Send Domain Strategy — Bluepoint

Overview

To protect the primary bluepoint.com domain's sender reputation, all bulk marketing emails sent via HubSpot are routed through a dedicated subdomain: bluepoint.co. This pattern isolates high-volume outbound sends from the domain used for day-to-day business correspondence, reducing the risk of the primary domain being flagged or blacklisted.

This approach was agreed upon by the Bluepoint stakeholders (Wade and Mike) and is now being implemented for the stadium campaign automation.

The Problem

Sending bulk marketing email from a primary business domain (@bluepoint.com) exposes that domain to deliverability risk. If recipients mark messages as spam, or if bounce rates climb, the domain's reputation suffers — affecting all outbound email, including transactional and personal correspondence.

The Solution

Use a dedicated sending domain (bluepoint.co) exclusively for HubSpot bulk sends:

This keeps bulk send reputation isolated while ensuring any genuine prospect responses reach the right person through normal channels.

"That .co should just be for the bulk emails… if somebody does reply back, it gets forwarded to the .com."
— Melissa Cusumano
