Fathom records and transcribes video calls, then surfaces AI-generated summaries and action items. Connecting it to HubSpot ensures call notes land in the CRM rather than staying siloed in Fathom's own dashboard.
Fathom has a native HubSpot integration available in the HubSpot App Marketplace. Once connected, it is granted permissions to read and write to contacts, companies, deals, tasks, and engagements.
The integration does not automatically push every call into HubSpot. Syncing is currently a manual, per-call action:
This is low-friction but requires intentional action after each call. There is no "sync all" bulk option at this time.
Evidence: BluePoint ATM had already connected Fathom to HubSpot on their own. During the review session, Wade demonstrated the Sync to CRM button and noted it was manual but straightforward. — [1]
According to the Fathom marketplace listing, the integration can sync:
Note: Fathom's AI summary captures the gist of a call but can miss context. The full transcript is more reliable for detailed recall. A recommended practice is to copy the full transcript into a Google Doc or similar store and use an AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT) to search across multiple calls later.
Once synced, call summaries appear in the Activity timeline of the associated contact or deal record. HubSpot's built-in AI assistant (the chat icon in the top navigation) can also be used to search across synced call notes — useful for finding something discussed weeks ago without manually scrolling through records.
| Limitation | Workaround |
|---|---|
| Sync is manual per call | Build a habit of syncing immediately after hanging up |
| AI summary can miss nuance | Copy full transcript to a shared doc; use ChatGPT to search across calls |
| Fathom is video-call focused | For inbound/outbound phone calls, use [2] instead |
