Overhead Door Madison serves customers across Dane County but had no location-specific pages targeting searches like "garage door repair Verona." This article documents the strategy approved in the January 2026 marketing review for building out a set of location pages using a Verona page as the initial template.

The client's primary domain authority is concentrated around "Madison" as a geographic signal. Ranking for surrounding towns (Verona, Fitchburg, Sun Prairie, etc.) requires dedicated pages that explicitly associate the business with those localities. Without them, Google has no strong signal to surface the site for town-specific queries.
"What we're trying to show up for here is people searching 'garage door repair Verona,' where we're giving ourselves the opportunity to rank for some of those towns versus Madison as a whole." — Sebastian Gant
The Verona page was built first and approved as the master template. Key design decisions:
Avoid generic placeholder text (the initial build had copy referencing "architects," which was flagged for correction). Each page should feel written for that town: why the business serves it, what same-day service looks like there, etc.
The location pages were designed without the main site navigation header, treating them as focused landing pages. The intent is to funnel visitors toward two actions only: call or request a quote. If engagement data later shows visitors want to browse the broader site, adding the full menu can be revisited.
"I kind of don't mind them just having to call right away. If we fill this out with some good info, they'll kind of have what they need here and then be able to call." — Sebastian Gant
Location pages should not appear under a top-level "Locations" menu item, as that could imply multiple physical offices (which the client does not have). Instead:
| Signal | Implementation |
|---|---|
| Geographic keyword density | Town name in H1, H2s, body copy, and form labels |
| Local reviews | Embedded or quoted reviews from customers in that area |
| Map embed | Google Maps iframe centered on the town |
| Zip code mention | Listed in the service description paragraph |
| Internal linking | "Service Areas" sub-menu creates crawlable links to all pages |
