All hours worked at Asymmetric are logged in ClickUp. This applies to both client-billable work and internal tasks. The expectation is that time is tracked against specific tasks rather than a generic "admin" bucket wherever possible.
Before logging time, set the task status to reflect current state:
Keeping statuses current helps account managers see what is being worked on without needing to ask.
Note: Automating the billable flag is a known gap being worked on with the ClickUp admin. Until resolved, always set it manually for client work.
| Work Type | Billable Flag | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Client social content | Yes | Creating Canva posts for Citrus America |
| Client scheduling | Yes | Uploading posts to HubSpot or GoHighLevel |
| Internal onboarding | No | Completing new hire tasks |
| Team meetings | No | Stand-ups, sync calls |
Asymmetric does not require every minute to be accounted for. If a short interval (15 minutes or so) goes untracked, that is acceptable — what matters is that meaningful work blocks are logged and tasks show visible progress.
Time can be logged at the parent task level for work that spans multiple subtasks completed in a single session. You do not need to split time across every subtask if you are moving through them quickly. Log time at the parent and mark individual subtasks done as you complete them.
New hires are assigned a task called "Roy Complete New Hire Onboarding" (name varies by hire) containing subtasks such as:
Complete these by the deadline given (typically end of first week). Log time against the parent onboarding task.
