AHS Training Page & Event Calendar
Overview
Madison Asbestos Services is building out two related but distinct website features: a training page targeting professionals (contractors, realtors, property managers) who want to request or register for asbestos training, and an event calendar listing both professional trainings and public-facing events (e.g., home shows). These were discussed in depth during the [1].
Training Page
Purpose
The training page is intended to capture professional leads — contractors, realtors, property managers — who want to attend or request an asbestos training session. It should not serve residential homeowners or school-related training inquiries.
- "I am a…" dropdown (required): Captures attendee type (homeowner, contractor, realtor, property manager, etc.). This field is required so AHS can identify if a homeowner has wandered to the wrong page.
- Training location dropdown: Options include:
- Training at AHS office (Fitchburg, lower level — address to be included so registrants can self-qualify by distance)
- Training at client/attendee location
- School asbestos training warning: A prominent notice — ideally above the fold — clarifying that school asbestos training is a separate program and directing those inquirers to call directly. This prevents the wrong intent from filling the form.
October 15th Training Sessions
Two Google Forms were created by Gina for the upcoming October 15th sessions:
1. Contractors session
2. Realtors session
These forms serve as the immediate registration mechanism while the full training page is being built out. The event calendar (see below) will eventually link directly to these forms or their equivalents.
Event Calendar
Purpose
A dedicated calendar page listing all upcoming AHS events, including:
- Professional trainings (contractors, realtors, etc.) — links to registration form
- Public events (e.g., NARI Home Show in January) — links to external event website
Navigation
- "Events" should be added as its own top-level header in the site navigation (alongside Home Services, Blog, etc.), separate from the training request page.
- Clicking an event on the calendar should route directly to the relevant form or external link.
Calendar Update Process
- Gina notifies Sebastian of new events (name, date, form link or external URL, details).
- Sebastian updates the calendar within one business day.
- AHS will not have direct edit access to the calendar (to be confirmed internally).
Action Items
- [ ] Sebastian to build mock-up of event calendar page for client review
- [ ] Sebastian to update training page with:
- "I am a…" required dropdown for attendee type
- Training location dropdown with Fitchburg address (lower level)
- Warning/notice re: school asbestos training not offered via this form
- [ ] Gina to review mock-ups before pages go live
- [ ] Confirm internally whether Gina will have direct calendar edit access or submit updates via email
