Quarra Design Assist Page — Rename from Stone Sourcing Services
Decision
The existing "Stone Sourcing Services" service page on the Quarra Stone website will be renamed to "Design Assist Services." This was confirmed by Lincoln Durham following an internal discussion with Jim, Alex, and Brian Smith.
Rationale
- Sharper branding: "Design Assist" more accurately and compellingly describes the offering. Lauren and Lincoln both noted it "sounds sharper."
- Minimal SEO impact: Research showed no significant difference in search volume between "stone sourcing services" and "design assist services" — neither phrase has high search volume. The rename carries negligible SEO risk in either direction.
- Strategic alignment: "Design Assist" is the term being used across 2026 sales and marketing initiatives, including the ABM strategy and an in-progress Design Assist lookbook. Aligning the website page name reduces fragmentation.
Content Requirements
The renamed page must retain stone sourcing as a core component of the service description. As Lincoln noted, resolving materiality — identifying and sourcing stone — is a fundamental part of the Design Assist phase. The page should not drop this coverage in favor of a purely consultative framing.
Lauren has a starter draft of revised copy that she will share with the team as a starting point.
Implementation Notes
- Copy: Lauren to email starter copy to Karly (Asymmetric) as a draft foundation.
- Page rename: AAG/Asymmetric to update the page title, URL slug, and navigation label.
- Redirect: A redirect from the old URL should be confirmed to preserve any existing inbound links.
- Navigation: This rename is happening in the same sitemap revision that adds a [1] and moves News/Blog to the footer — coordinate timing.
Related Context
- The Design Assist service is also being positioned as a key pillar in the [2], with targeted messaging planned for high-value architecture and design firms.
- A Design Assist lookbook is nearing completion internally and will be kept separate from the website page (not used as a replacement for the e-guide content flow).
- If the page rename had not been approved, the fallback plan was a standalone landing page with Design Assist keywords, used for ad traffic. That fallback is no longer needed.
