SBS Certifications & Affiliations Carousel

Overview

The SBSWI "About Us" page currently displays certification logos and affiliation badges in a scattered, unstructured layout — described in review as "glopped on the page in a very weird way." The agreed solution is to consolidate all credentials into a single scrolling carousel, accompanied by general copy explaining the significance of manufacturer certification.

This article captures the content strategy, logo inventory, and copy direction for that carousel implementation.

Problem

Certifications and affiliations were placed ad hoc on the About Us page, mixing manufacturer warranty logos (e.g., IKO, Genflex) with industry memberships (NRCA) and individual training credentials. Because these represent meaningfully different types of credentials, the visual result was confusing and undersold the value of each.

"Geico is not the same as NRCA and it just all looks like it's kind of glopped on the page in a very weird way." — Brandon Aman

All credential logos should be consolidated into a single horizontally scrolling carousel. The carousel removes the need to visually separate or stack credential types, and accommodates future logo additions without layout disruption.

Logos to Include

Credential Type
Genflex Manufacturer warranty authorization
IKO Manufacturer warranty authorization
Geico Manufacturer warranty authorization
Sherwin-Williams Manufacturer warranty authorization
NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) Industry membership
Brandon's personal certification Individual training credential

Additional logos are expected to be added as new certifications are obtained.

Supporting Copy

Rather than displaying IKO-specific program language (which was the prior approach), the carousel should be accompanied by general copy explaining what it means to be authorized to offer a manufacturer's warranty. Key points to convey:

This copy should be written by Melissa's team based on technical notes provided by Brandon. The goal is to avoid "clunky" phrasing while preserving the technical accuracy Brandon brings as the subject matter expert.

"The manufacturer is saying, hey, we are going to inspect this roof and we're going to stand behind it if these guys go out of business." — Brandon Aman
