Amazon Seller Central API Integration — Technical Blocker
Overview
As of the 2026-02-26 weekly call, the Amazon Seller Central API connection for the Doodla / Old World account is failing, blocking the ability to automate sales data pulls. This is the primary technical blocker preventing construction of a consolidated sales report that the client (Mark, Old World) needs to present to their bank.

Status
Blocked — Developer account approved by Amazon but API connection not functioning as of 2026-02-26. Mark Hope is actively troubleshooting.
Background
The client requested a recurring sales report to share with their bank, which holds approximately $700k in outstanding debt. The intent was to automate data aggregation from multiple channels:
- Amazon (primary revenue channel — via Seller Central / Seller Eyes)
- Website (e-commerce analytics)
- Bulk sales (currently untracked in any system; handled directly by Lucy)
The existing tool, Seller Eyes, does not expose an API, ruling out a direct integration. The fallback approach was to connect via the Amazon Seller Central API directly.
Technical Details
- Amazon developer account was approved the day prior to the call (2026-02-25).
- Despite approval, the API is not connecting properly.
- No timeline confirmed for resolution — Mark Hope is continuing to troubleshoot.
- Once resolved, the goal is to create a data pipeline that pulls Amazon sales data automatically, eliminating the need to manually navigate Seller Central screens or download reports.
"I've been trying to get an Amazon API connection and they approved my developer account yesterday, but it's not connecting properly. So it's going to take me some more time to get that sorted out."

Impact
Sales Reporting
Without the API, there is no automated way to pull Amazon sales data into a consolidated report. Manual workarounds (screen-by-screen review in Seller Eyes) remain available but are not scalable for recurring bank reporting.
Broader Context: Bank Debt
It is worth noting that the sales report, even if completed, is unlikely to materially address the client's financial situation. The $700k debt is described internally as an "elephant-level problem" that sales growth alone cannot resolve in the near term. The report may provide optics for the bank but should not be treated as a strategic solution.

Data Gaps Beyond Amazon
Even with the API resolved, the sales report will have a structural gap: bulk sales are not tracked in any system and are managed ad hoc by Lucy. Any report sent to the bank will be incomplete without accounting for this channel.
