Marketing Sync — Jan 15 2026
Client: [1]
Attendees: Sam Flynn (client), Karly Oykhman (Asymmetric), Avokerie Onorimuo (Asymmetric)
Source: Fathom Recording
Overview
Marketing sync covering two main areas: (1) drafting a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer clearance email promo, and (2) reviewing newly built service pages as part of a broader SEO and domain rating improvement strategy. Several website technical fixes were also discussed.
Key Decisions
- Email promo will focus on Rockford Fosgate subwoofer packages only (not Alpine), targeting 4–5 units (2 open-box, 3 new). Installed value ~$1,200–$1,500 with ~$500–$600 off.
- "Book a Service" CTA replaced with "Shop" across all service pages. Service pricing variability (e.g., Apple CarPlay ranges $700–$2,500) makes direct booking impractical without a prior conversation.
- Motorcycle services page postponed — no prior installs, low demand. Will revisit if volume materializes.
- MAP compliance must be confirmed before email goes out. Sam will contact distributor. If a direct percentage discount is allowed, Karly will build a direct-to-cart link with the discounted price. "Free installation" framing was rejected as it doesn't appeal to DIY buyers.
- "Add to cart to see price" workaround is not native to WooCommerce — not pursued.

Topic Notes
Email Promo: Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer Packages
Goal is to clear existing inventory. Sam will provide specs and a photo of subs loaded into new Flynn Audio-branded enclosures (expected delivery same week or following Monday).
Discount structure — still TBD:
- Preferred: direct ~40% percentage discount
- Blocker: potential MAP violation with Rockford Fosgate vendor
- Rejected: "free installation" framing (doesn't resonate with DIY segment)
- Not viable: "add to cart to see price" (not native WooCommerce)
Once MAP is confirmed, Karly will build a direct-to-cart link at the discounted price. Email copy will go into a Google Doc for Sam's review.
Service Pages Review
New service pages are built and ready for review. All share the same template. A few FAQ answer fields are still being populated by the developer (expected within a day or two of the call).
LED Headlights Page
- Pricing: ~$300–$350/pair installed (L2 bulbs at $200/pair retail, L3 at $250/pair; ~0.8 hrs labor)
- Add-ons to surface on the page:
- Canbus decoders (~$50/pair) — prevents vehicle error codes on bulb-check systems
- Coding service (~$50) — disables bulb checks on Jeep/Dodge vehicles via software
- Shop section: add 4 SKUs — L2, L3, H2L bulbs, Canbus decoders
- Warranty: add "3-year warranty" language to the Professional Installation section
- Gallery: Sam will send LED before/after photos to replace current placeholders; Civic install image is fine to keep
Marine Audio Page
- Current placeholder images are not boat-related (one is a Cadillac interior). Replace with actual marine install photos.
- Shop section should pull from boat product category — confirmed it does.
Motorcycle Services Page
- Postponed. Sam has never completed a motorcycle install and has only had two inquiries that didn't convert. Page exists but will not be promoted.
All Pages
- CTA button changing from "Book a Service" → "Shop"
- Rationale: directs users to products; they can add to cart or initiate a booking from there. Avoids the problem of customers not knowing their price before committing to a booking.
SEO & Domain Rating Strategy
Higher domain rating (DR) reduces Google Ads cost-per-click (Google treats higher-DR sites as more relevant, requiring lower bids) and improves organic rankings. Multi-pronged approach:
| Initiative | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Service pages | In progress | Ready for review; publishing soon |
| Website gallery | Planned | Karly to draft template; Sam has install photos |
| Google reviews | Planned | Karly to develop solicitation strategy; keyword-rich reviews help local SEO |
| Social media | Low priority | Useful for relevancy/social proof, not a primary SEO driver; low ROI |
| Blogs & press | Ongoing | Local press backlinks are high-value; capitalize on any newsworthy events (e.g., ribbon cuttings) |
Google Reviews note: Encouraging customers to include specific keywords (e.g., "stereo installation," "LED headlights") in their reviews directly benefits local SEO. Responding to reviews with keywords also helps. Sam's current rating is 4.8 (a 4-star review recently pulled it down from 4.9).
Website Technical Updates
- Crutchfield copy: Full sweep completed. All identified instances are being replaced. Expected done within a day of the call.
- Remote start pricing bug: Dropdown options are showing again, but selecting a variant does not update the displayed price on the product page (price does update correctly in cart). Fix in progress. Goal is to show updated price inline for better UX.
Context & Background
- Sam is going out of town the entire following week (Jan 20–24) plus the Monday after. Email review and service page feedback should happen before he leaves or asynchronously via Google Doc.
- Flynn Audio recently sold through all LED headlight inventory end-of-year; currently low on stock but restocking.
- Rockford Fosgate enclosures with Flynn Audio branding are expected to arrive imminently — Sam plans to photograph them in the showroom for email assets.
- Sam mentioned cash flow pressure heading into the new year, making the clearance email time-sensitive.
