GBP & Google Admin Access Resolution
Overview
Working session with Joe Frommelt, Lisa Frommelt, Melissa Cusumano, and Mark Hope to resolve JBF's longstanding Google Admin access blockage. The team successfully logged into the standard Google account but confirmed it is not the admin account. After diagnosing the recovery loop, the group decided to abandon recovery and create a fresh Google Workspace account. The session ended blocked on a GoDaddy payment failure; Mark owns follow-through.
Attendees:
- Joe Frommelt (client) — joefro30@icloud.com
- Lisa Frommelt (client contact) — lisa@lamariebeauty.co
- Melissa Cusumano (Asymmetric) — melissa.cusumano@asymmetric.pro
- Mark Hope (Asymmetric, joined mid-call)
Key Decisions
- Do not pursue Google admin recovery. The recovery flow loops through Squarespace (original host) → GoDaddy (current registrar) → a generic "contact the domain owner" dead end. Google support contacts have not resolved it. Attempting further recovery was deemed not worth the time.
- Create a new Google Workspace account tied to
jbfconcretelandscape.com, purchased through GoDaddy. This is the fastest path to admin access, custom email, and a public Google Business Profile. - Forward email from the existing
jbfconcretelandscape.com@gmail.comaccount to the new address so no inbound mail is lost during transition. - Target email address:
joe@jbfconcretelandscape.com(shorter variants likejoe@jbf.comwere considered but likely unavailable).
Problem Diagnosis
| Layer | Detail |
|---|---|
| Current login | jbfconcretelandscape.com@gmail.com — standard user, not admin |
| Admin indicator | No admin icon visible in the Google app grid (nine-dot menu) |
| Recovery path | Loops: Squarespace → GoDaddy → "contact domain owner" |
| DNS control | GoDaddy (Asymmetric does not currently hold the DNS) |
| Prior attempts | Lisa and Joe have contacted Google support multiple times without resolution |
Why admin access matters for JBF:
- Create custom email addresses (e.g., joe@jbfconcretelandscape.com)
- Make the Google Business Profile publicly visible
- Connect the domain to the new WordPress website
Blocker: GoDaddy Payment Failure
The plan to purchase the domain and set up the new Workspace account was halted when GoDaddy declined all payment attempts during the call:
- Multiple of Mark's credit cards declined
- Joe's Chase card (
4427-4212-...) also declined - Root cause unknown — possibly a GoDaddy platform issue (multiple attendees noted broader tech issues during the call)
Mark retained the GoDaddy login credentials and will troubleshoot the payment failure offline.
