Weekly Call w/ Karly — 2025-11-03 (Quarra)
Overview
Brief item from the weekly Karly/Mark sync. Quarra (referred to as "Cora" in the transcript) requested help creating a text-based email signature to replace their current image-only signature, which was causing deliverability and display issues.
Meeting recording: Fathom
Attendees: Karly Oykhman, Mark Hope
Request
Quarra's team (contact: Lincoln) wanted an email signature that:
- Matched their existing image-based signature design
- Would not be blocked by image-filtering email clients
- Would not render as an attachment in Gmail
- Included a clickable link and their logo
The existing signature was a flat image, which caused two known problems:
1. Some recipients' email clients block images, making the signature invisible
2. Google/Gmail sometimes treats image-only signatures as attachments rather than inline content
Solution
Mark recommended the free HubSpot Email Signature Generator as a self-serve starting point.
How it works:
- Available at HubSpot Email Signature Generator
- Offers multiple layout templates selectable from a left-hand panel
- Fields for name, title, phone, company, and logo image upload
- Output is an HTML signature — the logo renders as an image, but all other fields are text
- The generated signature can be copied and pasted directly into Outlook or other email clients
Result: The logo remains an image (acceptable), but contact details and links are text-based HTML, resolving the blocking and attachment issues.
Key Decisions
- Start with the HubSpot free tool rather than engaging the design team
- If Quarra has issues with the generator or wants a more custom layout, escalate to the design team as a follow-up
