HubSpot Product/Service Field Sync Bug — BluePoint ATM
Overview
The "Product/Service" dropdown field on BluePoint ATM's website contact forms is not syncing correctly to HubSpot. When a prospect submits a form, most contact fields (name, email, phone, company/organization) populate in HubSpot as expected — but the selected product or service type is dropped. This breaks the team's ability to sort and route leads between Mike Stebbins and Wade Zirkle.
The issue was surfaced during a marketing sync call and confirmed with a live example: a lead from Historic Hudson Valley arrived in HubSpot missing the product/service field entirely.
Symptoms
- Website form submissions create HubSpot contacts successfully
- Fields that do sync: name, email, phone number, organization/company name, message
- Field that does not sync: Product/Service (dropdown selection)
- The HubSpot-side field is referred to internally as the "product drop-down"
Impact
- Lead routing is impaired. Mike and Wade divide leads based on product type (e.g., cashless vs. cash ATM services). Without this field, manual follow-up is required to determine which rep should own each lead.
- CRM data quality degrades over time as contacts accumulate without product context.
- The issue affects all inbound form submissions, not just a single form or page.
Root Cause (Suspected)
The field mapping between the website form's dropdown and the corresponding HubSpot property is misconfigured or missing. Karly Oykhman noted during the call that "it's that drop-down list — we just need to do some more testing on our end." The exact technical cause (e.g., mismatched field IDs, unsupported field type mapping, or a missing HubSpot form embed property) was not yet confirmed at time of meeting.
Resolution Status
- Owner: Karly Oykhman (Asymmetric)
- Status: Open — investigation and fix assigned
- Action: Investigate the dropdown field mapping, apply a fix, test end-to-end, and report results to Wade and Mike
Related Context
This bug is separate from but adjacent to the NY campaign email flow, which also routes form submissions into HubSpot. Ensuring the Product/Service field syncs correctly is important for that campaign as well, so that NY cashless ban compliance leads are properly categorized on arrival.
